From John Deere Green to Camfil: A Commitment to Quality Comes Full Circle

A commitment to quality has brought me to Camfil!

A commitment to quality brought me to Camfil, and now, as I reflect on this completed chapter, I’m proud to share the success of our journey.


In 1979, as a bright-eyed co-op student, I stepped into the world of John Deere. That experience not only shaped my career but also infused my blood with a vibrant shade of green. Fast-forward to last year, and I found myself tickled green once again—albeit in a slightly different hue.


I had the privilege of serving as the Interim Quality Manager for Camfil’s facility in Riverdale, NJ. While the shade of green changed, my excitement for quality management and continuous improvement remained as strong as ever throughout the assignment.


This role allowed me to apply my years of experience in a truly exciting way. I guided Camfil through their “RCA” process:

  1. Roles and Responsibilities: We defined clear expectations for every team member.

  2. Cadence of Communication: We established regular touchpoints to monitor and measure progress.

  3. Accountability: We implemented systems to drive continuous improvement.


For those unfamiliar with Camfil, they are a global leader in air filtration systems and clean air solutions, committed to sustainability and improving indoor air quality worldwide. Their mission aligned perfectly with my passion for quality and environmental stewardship.


As I embarked on that chapter, my journey came full circle. From learning the ropes at John Deere to sharing my expertise with Camfil, I saw firsthand how a commitment to quality can transform organizations and industries.


At Cornerstone Engineering, Training, and Consulting LLC, I’ve always emphasized the importance of robust quality management systems. This opportunity with Camfil allowed me to put these principles into practice once again, helping another organization achieve excellence through the implementation of ISO standards and best practices.


I rolled up my sleeves and worked diligently with the Camfil team. Together, we strived for continual improvement, enhanced customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth. It was more than just a job - it was a chance to make a real difference in an industry that impacts the air we all breathe.


This experience reinforced the endless possibilities that come with a commitment to quality. It demonstrated how our approach at Cornerstone Engineering, focusing on customized system development and the implementation of ISO standards, can truly transform an organization.
